Mirror Borg Cube

I was tasked with building an entirely new Borg Interior Kit, but constructed over all of the old Borg Kit pieces, maintaining names and pivot points so that all of our old Borg maps would be automatically updated with the new kit pieces. There were several hundred existing pieces comprising a Room Kit, as Hallway Kit, a Platform Kit, as well as several other ancillary elements, the vast majority of which were updated.

This gallery is the interior of a Mirror Universe Borg Cube, made for Star Trek Online's Season 29. The updated Borg Kit was used here to craft an entirely new map. I was relit the kit in Red and White, rather than Green and Yellow. I created alternate materials for most of our structural pieces as well as a couple of key props. The difference is subtle, but the Mirror Universe materials have a lighter diffuse for the base metal.

All of the Modeling, Texturing, Materials, Lighting, and Atmospherics are my work, with the exception of the Pipes and Hoses that are run throughout, and the final Boss Room, which were handled by my Lead Scot Boyd and my co-Env Artist Gianna Rockwell.

While red was the primary thematic color, I used white spotlights to guide players around the map, highlighting interacts, doorways and other important locations with them.

A number of older props were rebuilt to a more current standard. The central console here is one of those that got fixed up.
